Hospice Général is an independent public institution responsible for implementing the social policy of the canton of Geneva. It focuses most of its time and effort on social assistance and providing asylum. Because the point-to-point inter-application interfaces in the hospice’s IT system were becoming increasingly cumbersome to maintain and especially to sustain, the IT Department organized an extensive information system urbanization program.
As part of the program, the public institution deployed Talend Application Integration/ESB to secure, homogenize and centralize all the interfaces that enable dialog between its applications and with its partners. Talend ESB now orchestrates the collection and consolidation of data originating from different departments.
The hospice is now more independent and less reliant on proprietary vendors. In terms of quality, the organization no longer experiences any difficulties in exchanging data with its external partners. The change has clearly benefited the organization’s business users, and with them, the institution as a whole, which has become more reactive, dynamic and efficient.
