Talend is a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Data Fabric, Q2 2022

By Jamie Fiorda

Since we launched Talend Data Fabric in 2015, we’ve believed strongly that merely focusing on the mechanics of data — capturing, moving, and storing data — is not enough to become data-driven. Everyone in the organization must be able to easily find, trust, and use data. That’s what data health is all about, and that’s what Talend makes possible.

Forrester looked at the 15 software providers that matter the most when it comes to Enterprise Data Fabric. In this evaluation, Talend was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Data Fabric, Q2 2022.

Per the Forrester report, “Data fabric delivers a unified, integrated, and intelligent end-to-end data platform to support new and emerging use cases. It automates all data management functions — including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, governance, security, preparation, quality, and curation — enabling insights and analytics to accelerate use cases quickly.”

We believe that our vision for enterprise data fabric has been validated in this report and that our placement underscores how Talend Data Fabric can help achieve organization-wide data health. You can access the full report on Forrester.com (available to Forrester subscribers and for purchase.)

As you look into building an enterprise data fabric, we strongly recommend that you look at three factors.

  1. It's 2022; where your data is (in a private cloud, on premises, in multiple cloud instances) should have no impact on how you can access it or use it. And if you want to switch cloud providers, you should be able to do that easily, safe in the knowledge that your data still can be found, used, and trusted by those who need it. That’s why you should build your data fabric to be cloud independent. The Forrester report states: “Talend is a good fit for customers with large and complex data across hybrid and multiclouds to support BI, customer intelligence, data science, data collaboration, data engineering, and predictive analytics use cases.” Regardless of the data environment you have today and the one you’ll build tomorrow; you’ll always be able to have healthy data at the moment you need it.
  2. Since data is only as good as what people can do with it, data users need to be at the center of your concerns. You want to make sure you make it easy for all of them to find, trust, and use data. At Talend, we’ve always made it a priority to provide a comprehensive, unified data fabric platform that offers a broad set of modules purpose-built for different tasks and user types, including data citizens Talend applications span the data lifecycle, from discovery and cataloging to quality and data observability to secure data delivery, with intelligence and automation built into every step. This enables organizations to engage the right subject matter experts and build the organizational data literacy that leads to a culture of data health, providing faster and more valuable insights. This is absolutely crucial to build a data fabric that supports your business objectives. If you’re curious about the benefits of a single, unified platform, I encourage you to read what Datin Habsah, Head of enterprise data at PETRONAS has to say about it.
  3. Finally, pay extra attention to the level of support software providers can offer you as you build the enterprise data fabric that works for your organization. Choose trusted business partners who have an immaculate track record when it comes to supporting current data needs. But make sure they also have a vision about the future opportunities the data world holds. Christal Bemont, Talend CEO, has been vocal about her strong belief in organization-wide data health and what’s holding companies back on their digital transformation. Likewise, if you want to get the full value from your data and data investments, you need to look beyond the data mechanics (and the software providers that do so) and focus on making data useful for everyone in your organization.

As the Forrester report notes:

"Talend has demonstrated a strong ability to execute on its vision as well as a consistent track record of install base and outstanding client satisfaction."
