Mitsubishi Electric Information Systems Corporation chooses Talend as powerful data integration tool for M2M in manufacturing industry/social infrastructure and utilizing big data
Tokyo, Japan - June 23, 2014

Talend KK (HQ: Minato-Ku, Tokyo, and President: Keizo Arinobu), a leader of big data integration, announces a distributor agreement with Mitsubishi Electric Information Systems Corporation (HQ: Minato-Ku, Tokyo, and President & CEO: Atsushi Morita, referred to as MDIS hereafter).

MDIS herewith starts to sell all software product lines of Talend, including data integration (ETL/ELT), application integration (ESB), data quality management (DQ), master data management (MDM/BPM), etc. MDIS plans to sell these software products to 20 companies in the first year.

MDIS is the core company of IT business in Mitsubishi Electric Group and provides various IT systems and products for social infrastructure, which is a strong point of Mitsubishi Electric, as well as wide range of business areas such as Manufacturing, Retail, Finance, etc. In all areas, weight of “data utilization” begins to increase more and more as a measure to create new business value, therefore the solutions for data cleansing, data integration and data quality management become indispensable.

Data utilization solution would handle both structured and unstructured data, and data sources are located both inside and outside a company, on premises or cloud environments. Talend products are based on open source business model and provide over 800 connectors for connecting various data sources, such as on-premises systems (for example ERP, database) and cloud services (for example CRM/SFA) without charge. In addition, new connector can be developed easily based on Java, which resulted in evaluation as a tool to accelerate future service deployment of MDIS.

Furthermore, complex data cooperation/integration can be constructed via user-friendly GUI, and all processes to utilize data, from data integration through quality management and master data management, can be achieved in one unified environment. These are also highly evaluated.

In these latter days, in manufacturing industry and social infrastructure areas on which MDIS focuses, such as machine control and air conditioning in factory, smart grid, and transportation system, spotlight is cast on M2M (Machine to Machine) system utilizing Sensor and IC chip as well as computer. Talend products feature high speed distributed processing via Hadoop, which enables various kinds of data processing to utilize big data from M2M in real time, at very high speeds. Talend tools themselves run natively on Hadoop with open technology based on Java and provide a wealth of connectors to big data technologies such as file systems and DB systems.

Talend products are evaluated as the most suitable tool to resolve issues on big data integration necessary for MDIS’s future business deployment, which resulted in this distributor agreement.
