Brings market-leading Big Data Integration and Big Data Quality solutions to the EMC Greenplum Platforms.
EMC World, Las Vegas (NV) - May 23, 2012

Talend, a global open source software leader today announced the availability of Talend’s data integration and data quality solutions for the entire EMC Greenplum database and data analytics portfolio. As the preeminent provider of open source big data integration solutions, Talend is certified to support a broad range of Greenplum products, including Greenplum Database, Greenplum Unified Analytics Platform, Greenplum HD and Greenplum MR.

“To gain insight from Big Data you need an analytics platform that integrates structured and unstructured analytics, which Greenplum readily provides,” said David Menninger, head of strategy at Greenplum, a division of EMC. “Now with Talend, customers can more easily integrate the Greenplum platforms with the rest of their information systems.”

Optimized for structured, unstructured, semi-structured and machine-generated data, the Talend Platform for Big Data offers a broad set of tools to load, extract and cleanse data located in diverse data sources and govern big data projects centrally. The only solution to abstract the complexity of Hadoop programming via a graphical design environment and an engine-less MapReduce code generation paradigm, it dramatically improves the efficiency of integration and alleviates the need for advanced parallel programming expertise. The Talend Platform for Big Data also provides unique data quality features that allow organizations to identify and link connected records.

The Talend Platform for Big Data is now certified on:

  • Greenplum Database – massively parallel processing (MPP) database that manages, stores and analyzes petabytes of structured data.
  • Greenplum UAP – a single unified platform enabling agile Big Data analytics.
  • Greenplum HD – a 100 percent interface-compatible implementation of the Apache Hadoop stack.
  • Greenplum MR – based on MapR’s M5 Distribution, a platform designed to increase the performance and availability of Hadoop via breakthrough innovations.

“The Talend-EMC Greenplum certification creates powerful solutions for companies seeking to leverage big data to create business value,” said Fabrice Bonan, co-founder and chief operating officer, Talend. “Organizations that choose to take advantage of Talend and Greenplum will be able to quickly benefit from the combination of market leading data integration technology with high-performance and enterprise-ready Hadoop solutions, removing the complexity from big data management and producing faster time-to-value.”

A part of the Talend Platform for Big Data, Talend Open Studio for Big Data is a powerful and versatile open source solution for big data integration that natively supports Apache Hadoop, including connectors for Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS), HBase, Pig, Sqoop and Hive.
