Talend Named a Leader in 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools

Third Consecutive Placement in Leaders Quadrant based on Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute Redwood City, CA - July 24, 2018 - Talend, a leader in cloud integration solutions, today announced it has once again been recognized by Gartner, Inc. as a Leader in data integration as described in the 2018 “Magic Quadrant for Data Integration Tools.”  This is Talend’s third placement in the Leaders quadrant, acknowledging the company’s completeness of vision and ability to execute. For a complimentary copy of Gartner’s complete report click here. According to Gartner, Inc., “Leaders in the data integration tools market are front-runners in the capability to support a full range of data delivery styles. In 2018, they have advanced their metadata capabilities, with some introducing highly dynamic optimization and advanced design assistance functions. Leaders have recognized the growing affinity between data and application integration. They are approaching location-agnostic deployments in a halting manner. Providers or solutions not limited to only cloud or only on-premises that can be deployed beyond a specific location are gaining traction (that is, on devices, as agents/daemons on sensors, in the IoT and more). Leaders are strong in establishing their data integration infrastructure as an enterprise standard in at least one primary use case, with the capabilities to deliver in multiple use cases. They become a critical component of modern information infrastructure. They support both traditional and new data integration patterns in order to capitalize on market demand. Leaders have significant mind share in the market, and resources skilled in their tools are readily available. These vendors recognize the need for new and emerging market demands — often providing new functional capabilities in their products ahead of demand, and by identifying new types of business problem to which data integration tools can bring significant value. Examples of deployments that span multiple projects and types of use case are common among Leaders' customers. Leaders have an established market presence, significant size and a multinational presence — either directly or through a parent company.” [1] “We’re proud to offer the only open source-based, unified platform that is purpose-built for modern cloud and big data use cases,” said Mike Tuchen, CEO, Talend. “Talend is uniquely positioned to help companies embrace new market innovations and government regulations in order to turn data into a competitive strength. We believe that our consecutive position as a Leader in the Magic Quadrant reinforces our technical strength and go-to-market strategy.” Talend delivers a single platform for data integration across public, hybrid, and private cloud, as well as on-premises environments, and facilitates greater collaboration between IT and business teams. Talend delivers comprehensive support for all major cloud platforms including AWS, Google, and Microsoft Azure. Additionally, Talend is architected to enable organizations to take advantage of the very latest data and cloud technologies, including Apache Spark, Hadoop, Flink and Apache Beam to connect and process data at speed and scale from a wide range of sources. Talend Helps Office Depot Europe Deliver Trusted Data

The Office Supplies and Office Services Provider Uses Talend Cloud to Power Better Analytics and Drive its Multi-Channel Customer Engagement Strategy Redwood City, CA - June 19, 2018 - Talend, a global leader in cloud data integration solutions, today announced Office Depot Europe, a business supplies and services provider, is using Talend Cloud to ingest data from its vast collection of operational systems, displacing siloed information repositories with a centralized enterprise data hub. Talend Data Integration and Data Quality capabilities enable Office Depot to improve e-commerce efficiency, while providing a better customer experience using predictive analytics in a more cost-effective and agile way. Office Depot Europe sells everything from paper, pens and flip charts, to office furniture and computers, to customers located in 14 countries throughout Europe. Traditionally, Office Depot’s European sales were primarily sourced through an offline, mail-order catalog model driven mainly by telemarketing activities. The company has since moved to a hybrid retail model, combining offline and online shopping, which required a data consolidation strategy that optimized the different channels and created a 360-degree customer view. Additionally, the company’s myriad backend systems and disparate supply chain data collected from across Europe had become difficult to analyze. Using Talend Cloud, Office Depot gained greater confidence in the quality of its enterprise data, enabling faster responses to rapidly changing market dynamics. “Talend helped us become a capability-led organization rather than application-led, allowing our team to use data to measure customer needs and competitive threats, which improves our business agility,” said Matt Steell, director of Information & Architecture at Office Depot. “With Talend we can ensure qualified, accurate information is delivered at the right time, empowering everyone from senior managers to business analysts to make better business decisions.” In migrating its solutions to Talend, Office Depot is also reducing instances of “shadow IT” by enabling business users to consume data as needed—without involving IT—and be self-sufficient. Using Talend’s persona-based cloud applications, such as Talend Data Preparation, IT can allow business users to be more directly involved in data quality and stewardship activities to ensure data is trusted. “Office Depot Europe is running a digital transformation project to improve internal processes and gain a competitive advantage,” said Ciaran Dynes, SVP of Products, Talend. “We are proud to help Office Depot Europe turn data into a trusted asset to respond more efficiently to market trends.” For more information about how Talend is helping Office Depot create an enterprise-wide view of customers, operations or finances to improve business results, check out this case study.
