Winter ‘23 Release Continues to Accelerate and Streamline Modern Data Management San Mateo, Calif. — February 28, 2023 — Talend, a global leader in data integration and management, today announced the latest update to Talend Data Fabric, its end-to-end platform for data discovery, transformation, governance, and sharing. Talend is a pioneer in low-code data solutions that help remove the technological and skills-based barriers to working effectively with data across the enterprise and accelerate the process of turning raw data into meaningful business outcomes. In the Winter ‘23 release, this tradition continues with the introduction of advanced capabilities and enhancements to simplify and automate cloud migrations and data management, expand data connectivity, and improve data visibility, quality, control, and access. “Today’s businesses are facing unprecedented changes and disruptions driving them to re-think their data management strategies, including engineering, governance, and intelligence domains,” said Stewart Bond, Research Vice President, Data Intelligence and Data Integration Software, IDC. “Organizations need to guarantee a high level of data and data pipelines availability and efficiency, streamline cloud processing, and leverage augmented data and metadata management technologies. The latest Talend Data Fabric capabilities support organizations’ new data imperatives to reduce risks, ensure greater compliance and accelerate innovation.” Here are some of the latest Talend Data Fabric features to help data professionals, including data engineers and architects gain full command of their data environments and organizations transition to and extract the most value from their modern data management stack: Managing Cloud Jobs: Talend adds more AI-powered automation to its Winter ’23 through Smart Services that simplify task scheduling and orchestration of cloud jobs. The new Smart Services allow users to pause and resume tasks and utilize smart timeouts cutting additional compute time and improving operational efficiency. Improved connectivity for modernization: Talend is adding to its already impressive line up of 1,000-plus connections and components to enable users to connect to virtually any cloud or on-premise data source. With SAP ending support for many traditional SAP deployments in 2027, the new release brings certified connectors for SAP S/4HANA®, and SAP Business Warehouse on HANA, enabling organizations to easily shift critical workloads to these modern SAP data platforms. The release also supports ad platforms such as TikTok, Snapchat, and Twitter, and modern cloud databases, including Amazon Keyspaces (for Apache Cassandra), Azure SQL Database, Google Bigtable, and Neo4j Aura Cloud. Talend is also improving support for streaming use-cases by enhancing the Kafka connector to benefit from the latest and greatest Kafka innovations, including new Apache Spark™ Data Interfaces and schema registry. Data observability: The addition of data observability enables data professionals to automatically and proactively monitor the quality of their data over time and provide trusted data for self-service data access. By leveraging dataset crawling or tags, users can easily uncover data blind spots to discover new datasets. Data teams can instantaneously check the validity and usage of data types across the datasets, apply contextual data quality rules, and monitor how data quality evolves using the enhanced Talend Trust Score™. Talend is also updating Stitch, its powerful yet simple-to-use, fully managed cloud ETL service. Stitch is ideal for quick and automated data movement to any cloud platform and enables Data Analysts and Data Citizens to work directly with data without IT assistance. Stitch now includes new role-based access control to provide better segregation of administrator duties and new pipeline monitoring capabilities that will allow data teams to get key metrics on data ingestion, including data volumes, data freshness, and schema changes. With the newly added History mode for Snowflake, data changes for historical analysis or compliance auditing can be easily tracked. “Winter ’23 is based on direct customer feedback and continuing to support those on the front lines charged with the increasingly daunting task of extracting maximum, ongoing value from corporate data,” said Jason Penkethman, Chief Product Officer, Talend. “As well as continuing to drive operational efficiency and expedite data modernization efforts and returns, with Winter ’23, we are also empowering our customers to continuously monitor data throughout its lifecycle and understand and impact how it evolves and moves to fuel positive business outcomes.” To further support customers and speed up time to value, Talend also introduced updated services. Talend Partners with Passerelle and Snowflake to Ensure Companies Run on Healthy Data

New vertical solutions for Passerelle’s Data Rocket architected on Talend Data Fabric and the Snowflake Data Cloud SAN MATEO – November 17, 2022 – Talend, a global leader in data integration and data management, announced today a partnership with Passerelle and Snowflake, the Data Cloud company, to provide new vertical solutions for delivering healthy data to organisations worldwide. Built on Talend Data Fabric and Snowflake’s Data Cloud, Passerelle’s Data Rocket provides a scalable architecture that delivers governed data ingestion, trusted stewardship, cloud-based storage, and on-demand visual analytics based on the foundation of healthy data. New Data Rocket vertical solutions will be tailored for key vertical markets, beginning with financial services. Financial institutions rely on data insights to attract and retain customers in a tech-driven world – an estimated 73% of global consumers use online banking at least once a month to access and manage their financial assets. However, for many organisations, data silos and legacy ways of data governance create barriers to valuable insights. Additionally, legacy analytics infrastructure makes it difficult for the right teams to get the data where they need it, when they need it. Investing in data modernisation with a full-scale data architecture and business analytics solution can be overwhelming and expensive for small and mid-sized institutions. “To compete in today’s world, it takes a whole ecosystem of partners -  there's not one bank that I know of that can do it all on their own,” Peter Love, Chief Digital Officer, Berkshire Bank. “Passerelle’s Data Rocket has created a modern infrastructure to improve our insights and create a better customer experience.” “By integrating its product with Snowflake, Passerelle harnesses the power of the Data Cloud and the ability to discover and purchase data directly on Snowflake Marketplace to enable digital transformation for regional banks and other financial services organisations,” said Rinesh Patel, Global Head of Financial Services at Snowflake. “Passerelle’s Data Rocket ties technology investments with use cases for immediate value and usability.” Data Rocket’s end-to-end data solution optimises Talend Data Fabric and the Snowflake Data Cloud’s abilities to give data teams the most value out of their data so financial organisations can achieve desired business outcomes in a robust data-based environment. Talend, Passerelle, and Snowflake will provide joint customers with industry-leading support to help minimise overhead, increase customer attrition, increase ROI, and support data-informed innovation decisions. “Assembling a data stack to meet all the needs of an organisation is a daunting task,” said Pat Dionne, CEO of Passerelle. “Data Rocket is an end-to-end solution that unites industry leading technologies into a robust framework that scales with use and lands quickly with prebuilt dashboards and ready to use data governance modules. With the Data Rocket for Financial Services, we added capabilities that our financial services customers are asking for – easier access to 3rd party data and enriched 1st party data, a better way to measure ROI in marketing, and predefined use cases to accelerate time to value.” Talend removes technological and skills-based barriers to working effectively with data across an entire organisation. The company’s cloud-independent unified data integration and management solutions ensure businesses become data-driven by achieving organisation-wide data health. Talend Data Fabric is an end-to-end data integration platform that simplifies all aspects of working with trusted data for analysis and use, driving critical business outcomes. For organisations within the finance vertical, healthy data from Talend will make a huge difference for data teams who need to get the most value out of their data in order to make informed business decisions. “A solution like Data Rocket is essential for businesses of any size looking to implement a working environment that uses healthy data at scale for analysis,” said Andy Smith, Senior Director Global Tech Alliances, Talend. “Having reliable data, especially during times of uncertainty, is critical for making decisions toward achieving desired business outcomes. We look forward to our continued collaboration with Passerelle and Snowflake as we introduce new capabilities and vertical industries to market.”

Talend Data Health Barometer Reveals Companies’ Ability to Manage Data is Worsening Year-Over-Year

Barrier to getting real value from data isn’t budget or technology –– it’s the people Economic uncertainty raises need for faster access to reliable data to drive business impact San Mateo, Calif., Sept. 21, 2022 — Talend, a global leader in data integration and data management, today released the results from its second annual Data Health Barometer, a survey conducted globally among nearly 900 independent data experts and leaders. While a majority of respondents believe data is important, 97% face challenges in using data effectively and nearly half say it's not easy to use data to drive business impact. The Data Health Barometer explores the disconnect between data and decision, which can impede enterprises and executives from supporting their strategic objectives through any economic conditions. “In the coming years, businesses are only going to become more reliant on data to navigate the challenges of a turbulent economy and an increasingly competitive marketplace,” said Christal Bemont, CEO at Talend. “By putting a focus on reliable data — supported by a strong data culture with a focus on agility and trust — businesses can not only weather any storm, but come out ahead. Having a healthy data environment in place gives organisations the power to run lean in tough times without sacrificing their long-term strategy.” A company’s overall data health describes not just the state of a company’s data, but how well it supports targeted business outcomes. Major findings from the survey include: Companies’ ability to manage data is worsening YOY: On all five markers of healthy data — timeliness, accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and completeness — companies rate themselves around 10 points lower in 2022 than they did in 2021. Timeliness (-29pts) and accessibility (-15pts) saw the greatest drops, as respondents struggle with getting the data they need as a result of remote work (57%). There is a data literacy skills gap: Respondents shared that the No. 1 barrier to getting real value from data isn’t budget or technology –– it’s their people. One in three respondents have reservations about how well employees understand the data they work with. Without a common language for data, these businesses may not be prepared to face the challenges ahead. Businesses are preparing for economic turbulence: Respondents ranked increasing revenue (+10pts) and optimising costs (+13pts) at the top of the list for data use and have increased in priority from last year. However, nearly half of companies claim that their data doesn't yet have the speed and flexibility they need to satisfy all the demands of the business, and 41% claim they don’t have fast access to the right data. Data trust and data quality remain top challenges to using data effectively: More than one-third of companies report that trusting the data they rely on to make business decisions is a major challenge. In fact, nearly half of respondents feel that ensuring data quality is a top challenge in using data effectively. Gartner research found that organisations believe poor data quality to be responsible for an average of $15 million per year in losses.
