Talend Integration Suite brings enterprise features to open source data integration

A month after celebrating our 100,000 downloads, a few weeks after releasing Talend Open Studio v2.1, now is time to welcome Talend Integration Suite to the market!

I want to start this post with congratulations to the Talend R&D team, and to the community that provided its invaluable feedback, without which it would have been difficult to build Talend Integration Suite. Kudos to everyone!

So what is Talend Integration Suite? It’s an extension of Talend Open Studio, with many enteprise-grade features for development and deployment.

First (very important) point: no change of environment is required for the developers, who still use Talend Open Studio to build their jobs.

Second point: Talend Integration Suite is a series of optional modules, that are packaged into different editions of the solution. The modules focus on 3 major enterprise areas:
- Facilitate collaboration and promote best practices
- Manage enterprise-scale deployments
- Centralize monitoring of integration processes

amc_shot_rebuilt.jpgToday, we are putting into GA the following modules:
- Shared Repository, to share all projects and metadata in a central repository (deployed internally). You will have recognized here a theme similar to Talend On Demand, our SaaS data integration solution. That makes sense, since it’s the same technology stack - except you deploy it behind your firewall, and you fully control it.
- Distant Run, to execute remotely a job from the Job Designer interface. This will come very handy for testing jobs on remote systems, and for running jobs upon request on different systems.
- Activity Monitoring Console, an Eclipse plugin (part of Talend Open Studio or standalone) that provides a single, centralized way of monitoring job events, execution times, data volumes…

There will be many more options for Talend Integration Suite - stay tuned!
