I am proud to inform you that Talend Open Studio 2.4.0 Release Candidate is now available. This version contains all the features of Talend Open Studio 2.4.0 and we need community members to track all problems that might exist in your Open Source data integration tool, before its release.
What’s new in this version? Compared to Talend Open Studio 2.3.x, many features have been added:
- Persistent tMap that allows to perform lookups on massive flows (several GB) - for more technical information on this point you can check this Wiki article.
- Redesigned and improved context and metadata management
- Propagation of metadata changes with dependencies analysis
- New ELT mode with the ability to externalize SQL patterns
- Highlighting of subjobs with pre- and post-jobs definition
- Automatic installation of components from the Ecosystem
- New wizards (Excel, SalesForce.com)
We have also integrated new components and connectors:
- Parallelization of iterate links
- New support or enhancements to the support of several databases (EnterpriseDB, MaxDB, DB2, Sybase, Interbase, etc.)
- Support for Slowly Changing Dimensions in ELT mode
- External command pipe
- Country lookup from IP
