This week two interesting (and very different) articles appeared in the IT press, talking about Talend.
The first one was published by ComputerWorld Canada. Briony Smith interviewed Muzammil Rajpurkar, DBA at the I.T. Services of the City of Brantford in Ontario, Canada. This article, City of Brantford gets in synch explains how they are able to “synchronize and move data from the municipal infrastructure database to an Avantis system that will better manage the municipality’s asset management and work orders, and keep the databases better synchronized as well.” All of this, using Talend Open Studio.
The second piece that appeared this week is actually an interview of Bertrand Diard by Lora Bentley of IT Business Edge. Titled Data Integration: The ‘Glue’ That Holds Everything Together, this interview focuses on the advantages open source brings to data integration, and how open source interacts with proprietary software in the IT stack.

PS: We are late with the Talend Awards announcement, as noted by several community members. We are aware of this, but there were some complications with the communications department of one of the winning companies. When we finally announce the winners, there will be one you will recognize…
