On Thursday Talend sponsored a seminar in the San Francisco Bay Area featuring Bill Inmon, “the Father of Data Warehousing”. Bill delivered an interesting speech on the evolution of IT architectures. This was followed by a presentation on the economics of data integration, and how Open Source changes the story. We concluded the morning with a presentation and demonstration of Talend Integration Suite, our enterprise data integration solution.

For the venue, we had selected the Hiller Aviation Museum in San Carlos. If you have ever driven on Route 101, you have certainly noticed it - on the right hand side of the highway when going North toward San Francisco, with its tall marquee. The museum has a great collection of vintage aircrafts and helicopters, and even the front section of a real 747 with its cockpit and 1st class cabin! Most attendees told us they had always wanted to visit the museum but had never had the opportunity to do it.
Speaking of attendees, we got a good sample of representative of the area’s corporations, as well as several partners. They all provided good feedback. This was overall a very positive event.
