When proprietary vendors embrace Open Source

In the past few years, IONA, an application integration vendor (originally CORBA, now SOA) has been increasing its Open Source focus while also continuing to offer proprietary solutions. They’ve just announced the acquisition of LogicBlaze, an Open Source vendor that complements their SOA offering. This is significant for two reasons. First, because it shows that Open Source is becoming more and more prevalent in the interoperability space. And second, because its shifts the balance of a dual (proprietary and Open Source) vendor more toward Open Source, which is always great news for the community!
Who will be next? And how long before Open Source vendors start to acquire proprietary vendors?
