Last week, Bertrand, Vincent and myself met with the Talend account team at Schwartz Communications in San Francisco, Talend’s newly appointed PR agency for the US. We set together an aggressive timeline to get the word out that Talend is growing - very fast - on the US market (45% of our product downloads come from there!). First milestone for our debut with the US press and analysts community was a press release announcing that Talend Expands Global Footprint With Opening of U.S. Headquarters and Key Executive Hires.

In continuing with Talend’s growth, I am happy to introduce François Méro, who is joining us as our General Manager for Europe, Middle East & Africa.
François will be in charge of developing and managing Talend’s sales and service organizations in these regions. He is bringing with him an extensive experience in software sales and operations management.
Indeed, he has previously served as VP Sales Metadata EMEA & APAC for ASG, the metadata management solutions specialist; before this, he was Executive VP of Sales and co-founder of Soamai, an IT Asset Intelligence vendor acquired by ASG in 2004.
Welcome, François!

We have recently launched a survey of the users of Talend Open Studio. If you registered as a user before mid-March, you should have received an email invitation to fill out this survey. If you didn’t get it - or misplaced it - here is the link:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.asp?u=61153474782&c=bl1
The results we are getting are really interesting. I thought I would share with you a few nuggets from the responses we have collected so far:
- according to the users, the most important characteristics of Talend Open Studio are the performance of the integration processes (42%) and the ease of use (42% also). Avoiding being locked by a proprietary vendor comes next (40%).
- 62% of respondents indicated that they would like to join the Talend forums, while 56% would like to become beta testers.
More to come.

I met yesterday with the marketing crew of our strategic partner JasperSoft. The folks there are getting ready for a new version of JasperETL, Powered by Talend. This will happen concurrently with version 2.0 of Talend Open Studio, which as you know has just reached its Milestone 3 step.
So we’re putting together the launch plan, and there will be quite a bit of joint marketing activity. Stay tuned!
