Re-platforming for next generation capabilities and cost reduction
HP was created as the result of 2015 split of Hewlett Packard into 2 business entities, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP Inc. Hewlett Packard Enterprise retained the IT Infrastructure, giving HP 18 months to migrate off legacy IT systems. This was the opportunity to modernize for next generation capabilities and cost structures. HP built a new Enterprise Data Warehouse, with Hadoop and Talend. This next-generation EDW offers, in addition to current capabilities, near real-time to real-time cloud big data platform. The ecosystem is a mix of solutions that are either in the cloud (AWS and Azure) or on-premise.
This re-platforming project will serve as the basis of a center of excellence from which other HP projects will leverage Talend. The new platform is for all corporate transformation programs across ERP, Sales, Channel etc. Customers are in all functions and business units: Finance, sales and marketing.
