SOA and the Talend ESB

A Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) is an architecture that uses a set of special design principles to provide greater flexibility, scalability, and maintainability to enterprise system integrations. This course is based on Thomas Erl’s Service Oriented Architecture book and provides a high-level introduction to the concepts, benefits, and challenges in adopting a Service Oriented Architecture as well as a demonstration of how the Talend ESB implements the SOA design principles.

Working with the Talend ESB

The Talend Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) provides a set of tools to enable application developers to build, deploy, test, and maintain services within an SOA-enabled solution. This course provides a general introduction to using each of the main Talend ESB software tools (Camel, CXF, ActiveMQ, Karaf, Service Activity Monitor, Security Token Service, and the Service Locator), to implement a SOA solution.

Working with Apache CXF

Apache CXF is an Open Source service development framework that makes it easy to create, set up, deploy, and use web services across multiple transports, protocols, and data formats.  This course provides students with proficiency in building both SOAP and REST style web services with CXF through hands on lab experience.

Working with Apache ActiveMQ

Apache ActiveMQ is a powerful messaging provider that supports many cross language clients and protocols.  This course provides a solid introduction to both the theory and practice behind applying ActiveMQ (AMQ) to provide a means for delivering messages reliably between diverse systems using a series of message brokers and queues.

Working with Apache Camel

Apache Camel is an integration framework designed to easily send messages to systems/components using multiple transports, languages, and/or data formats. This course provides experience in working with Apache Camel to build integration solutions that use Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIPs) based on the book by Gregor Hohpe and Bobby Woolf.
