Talend Application Integration Solutions

Talend's application integration solutions allow organizations to integrate and expand their systems and applications through the use of service-oriented architecture (SOA) principles. Talend's application integration solutions use the leading Apache open source projects and are designed for use in complex, heterogeneous IT environments.

Talend Enterprise Service Bus (ESB)

Talend ESB is a lightweight, distributed, high-performance runtime environment that provides service enablement, mediation and a reliable message transport to meet an organizations enterprise integration needs.  Talend ESB is based on popular open source projects in the Apache Software Foundation.  The ESB also includes an Eclipse-based design-time tooling environment and service locator capabilities to easily reuse services in applications.

All Talend application integration solutions are built, tested, and certified using Talend's real world experience deploying into large-scale enterprise it environments. Registered members of the Talend community gain access to a number of documented examples of best practices using the Community and Standard Edition products, accelerating the development of integration solutions.

Talend ESB Enterprise Edition (EE) for Data Services is a reliable and scalable ESB that allows development teams to holistically address integration projects by combining application integration and data management for complex, heterogeneous IT environments. Talend ESB EE for Data Services frees data management processes that are traditionally bound to specific applications by abstracting them as standards-based services that can be reused by other applications. The reuse of data services across multiple applications maximizes the value of initial investments in standalone data integration solutions.

  • Multi-User Development Environment - Share integration artifacts and collaborate on projects across teams through a shared repository and multi-user development environment
  • Comprehensive Management Capabilities - Easily monitor application and data service events and drill-down into individual service statistics for in-depth analysis of inter-process service activity
  • Effortless Data Services Creation - Maximize the value of data management investments by abstracting them as standards-based services

Talend ESB Standard Edition (SE) is a versatile and flexible enterprise service bus (ESB) that allows organizations to address any integration challenge – from simple departmental projects to complex, heterogeneous IT environments. Powered by the leading Apache open source integration projects, Talend ESB makes enterprise-class integration accessible by delivering a cost-effective and easy-to-use way to easily integrate and expand systems and applications.

Talend ESB SE provides a standards-based connectivity layer used to integrate distributed systems across functional, enterprise, and geographic boundaries.  Capabilities include messaging, Web services, intelligent routing, and data transformation.

  • Versatile and Flexible - Create both rest and soap web services with a high performance, lightweight and embeddable solution that can be configured for any application topology
  • Dynamic mediation - Use enterprise integration patterns to mediate messages between services without knowledge of deployment or container configuration details
  • High Performance - Deliver high-throughput solutions coupled with transparent failover and load balancing, ensuring that service level agreements are met
  • Easy to Deploy - Leverage packages preconfigured out-of-the-box to work in all popular java environments

Talend Service Factory Community Edition uses the industry leading open source Apache CXF implementation for Web Services, to help you service enable your existing applications and interfaces.  Offered as a single, pre-configured package, which is based on Apache CXF and Apache Karaf, it enables developers to quickly build and deploy dynamic, robust and resilient REST and SOAP web services.

Talend Service Factory Customer Edition supports web services using SOAP with full WS-* functionality including support for WS-Addressing, WS-Reliable Messaging, and WS-Security over both HTTP and JMS transports. Apache CXF's elegantly simple architecture allows declarative, policy-centric support of these qualities of service through configuration rather than code. Talend Service Factory leverages Apache CXF’s open standards and portability to enable developers to deliver interoperability across their applications.

Talend Service Factory is provided as a fully certified and tested solution, supported by the same key developers that build the software at Apache. Service Factory embodies the key benefits of OSGi namely 'modular software development' and dynamic 'Service Lifecycle' management.

Talend Integration Factory Community Edition is based on the open source Apache Camel project. It is a fully supported, stable, production-ready product, which makes messaged-based system integration more powerful and scalable. Talend Integration Factory is focused on simplifying integration tasks and making users more productive.

Talend Integration Factory implements popular Enterprise Integration Patterns using a Java Domain Specific Language to simplify the configuration of routing and mediation rules.

Talend Integration Factory is built on a lightweight, component-based architecture, which allows for flexibility in deployment scenarios.  It comes “out-of-the-box" with pre-configured runtime packages ready for deployment in environments including OSGi, Apache Tomcat, JEE servers or standalone JVM.

Talend Integration Factory comes packaged with documented examples providing developers a fast and easy way to get started with integration projects

SOA Framework

Talend's SOA Framework provides all of the components needed for a comprehensive integration solution.  The SOA Framework includes an ESB as well as governance capabilities for management and monitoring of services, data integration, and business process management (BPM).  The SOA framework supports both Java and .Net environments and is available on wide array of operating systems.

Talend ASF provides a complete open source SOA solution  using integration modules that address service enablement, business process orchestration, messaging, data transformation, and service management. ASF implements open standards such as web services and JMS in a simple, highly modular manner based on established technology implemented by the Apache community.  Talend ASF extends this basic functionality with management features which allow integration projects to scale across the enterprise .

Talend leverages its experience as an early adopter and innovator in the SOA space to deliver a high performance, comprehensive, and modular solution based on mature industry standard components.  The following key concepts make Talend ASF the best choice for demanding integration projects.

  • Comprehensive Functionality: Talend ASF provides a full set of functionality for building, deploying, operating, and managing integration infrastructure.  Using common architecture principles, solution elements form a coherent system that unifies enterprise SOA delivery.
  • Proven Enterprise Solution: Talend ASF code has been in use in large enterprises for over ten years.
  • Industry Leading Technology: Leading open source technologies such as Spring , CXF web services, and ActiveMQ JMS form the basis for all Talend ASF products.
  • Established   Community: The Talend ASF solution is grounded upon a established and active open source communities, specifically Apache and Eclipse.  Broad adoption of these projects in these open source communities ensures continuity of support and community-driven innovation.
  • Extensible Infrastructure: Talend ASF integration infrastructure is highly modular and pluggable, allowing customer s to deploy only what they need, when they need it.  This incremental approach to integration solutions ensures a quicker return on the initial investment.
  • Centralized Management: Talend ASF adds policy-centric management for endpoints, services, business processes, and data so that highly distributed solutions are centrally managed.
  • Enterprise  Support: Talend provides proven enterprise service and support for bug fixes, patches, and release management so that IT operations are successful in deploying and maintaining integration solutions.
  • Indemnification: Open source licensing can be complicated.  Talend manages the licensing of open source components and provides the necessary visibility so that customers can focus on applying technology to build solutions with confidence that legal issues have been addressed
