Panel of Independent CIOs Recognizes Talend for Excellence in Innovative Open Source Data Integration Technology
PALO ALTO, Calif. - August 21, 2007 - Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced that International Data Group’s (IDG) Computerworld magazine, the premier source of IT industry news and analysis, selected Talend Open Studio as an honorable mention of its third annual Computerworld Horizon Awards for cutting-edge technologies. Talend Open Studio, the industry’s first pure open source data integration solution, was selected for the award out of over 250 submissions by an independent panel of senior IT executives.
"Computerworld established the Computerworld Horizon Awards Program to elevate industry recognition of organizations leading the way with technical advances that will affect enterprise customers", said Don Tennant, editor in chief of Computerworld. "With this recognition, Talend joins a select group of innovators focused on bringing new thinking and solutions out of the lab and into the market to the benefit of all."
Talend Open Studio, the industry’s first pure open source data integration solution, combines metadata-driven design and execution, with an easy-to-use graphical development environment, to deliver better scalability at a lower total cost of ownership than traditional data integration or Extract, Transform and Load (ETL) solutions. Talend’s technology and business vision shatters the traditional proprietary model and provides the flexibility required to meet the needs of all organizations – regardless of their size, level of expertise or budgetary constraints. Talend Open Studio has been downloaded by more than 100,000 global users in just ten months of availability.
"It is truly an honor to be recognized by a prestigious publication as well as by so many IT and open source influencers", said Yves de Montcheuil, vice president of marketing of Talend. "It validates the growing appeal and advantages of enterprise solutions that leverage open source as an alternative to costly, closed products. As our solutions continue to experience unprecedented traction, we are focusing on simplifying developments and speeding deployments while empowering the information management teams to select the architecture that makes sense, all without the steep investment and black-box aspects associated with commercial offerings."
The Horizon Award winners are profiled in a special report in the August 20 issue of Computerworld.
