Talend and ETAI Win BeyeNETWORK 2008 Vision Award for Business Impact in Data Integration

LOS ALTOS, Calif. - October 28, 2008 - Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced that it has won, along with customer Editions Techniques Pour L’Automobile et L’Industrie (ETAI), the BeyeNETWORK 2008 Vision Award for Business Impact in the Data Integration category. The award recognizes companies that have used data integration software and technology to positively impact their organizations.

“Companies today rely on successful applications of data integration that combine IT goals with business objectives to deliver effective results,” said Mary Jo Nott, executive editor of the BeyeNETWORK. “Talend and ETAI worked together to make ETAI’s data systems more efficient, which in turn produced measurable business impact. This project shows the value tools can bring to the largely manual task of operational data integration, as well as demonstrating the cost-savings to be had from open source tools.”

ETAI produces and sells data within the automotive, manufacturing and retail industries. Before choosing Talend, ETAI struggled with disparate data repository formats and paper documents that required information to be keyed in. The process was time-consuming and presented many data quality challenges. Numerous programs had to be run, and many steps of the process required domain expertise. Talend helped ETAI to automate the integration of heterogeneous and disparate data and increase the quality of production tasks. With Talend, ETAI was able to reduce the time needed to build the complete database, improve the quality of data, increase productivity, decrease impact risks and alleviate costs.

“Successful business operations require efficient and high-performance data integration processes to provide real results,” said Yves de Montcheuil, vice president of marketing for Talend. “This award demonstrates the increasing acceptance of open source software among enterprises like ETAI, proving that innovative and leading edge solutions can quickly provide true business value.”
