LOS ALTOS, CA - August 4, 2011 - Talend, a global open source software leader, today announced it has been positioned by Gartner, Inc. in the “Visionaries” quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools” report. This recognition comes at a time when Talend continues to drive product innovation and grow its client base with new customers and expansion of existing relationships.
In the report, which assesses the leading international providers of data quality solutions based on completeness of vision and ability to execute, Gartner defines “Visionaries” as organizations that “demonstrate a strong understanding of current and future market trends and directions, such as the importance of ongoing monitoring of data quality, the engagement of business subject matter experts and the delivery of data quality services. They exhibit capabilities aligned with these trends, but may lack the market presence, brand recognition, customer base and resources of larger vendors.”
“Being recognized as a Visionary in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools is a great achievement for us,” said Bertrand Diard, CEO and co-founder, Talend. “As the first open source provider of data quality solutions, we offer enterprise-ready products that are more flexible and cost-effective to use. As we continue along our path of innovative product development, including the recent release of our unified integration platform, we look forward to advancing beyond our current position.”
According to the report, “Organizations of all sizes and in all industries are recognizing the importance of high-quality data and the critical role of data quality in information governance and stewardship, driven by broader enterprise information management initiatives. As a result, their interest in the role of tools and technology for data quality improvement continues to grow. Fueled by a market of purpose-built, packaged tools for addressing various dimensions of the data quality discipline, data quality functionality is readily available from a variety of providers, large and small, stand-alone and increasingly embedded within other technology solutions.”
Talend products evaluated in the Magic Quadrant include Talend Open Profiler, a sophisticated, yet simple-to-use open source data profiling tool that examines the content, structure and quality of any data set. It allows business users and data management staff to perform a wide variety of analyses using indicators, patterns and rules for each data element being analyzed or monitored. Also included is Talend Data Quality, a complete solution for the improvement and corporate management of data quality. The solution contains the foundation tools for data quality, including data profiling, standardization, enrichment, and matching and advanced monitoring of data quality. Talend Data Quality is fully integrated with the other Talend products in the Talend Unified Platform, providing close integration with data integration, master data management and enterprise service bus.
