Talend Announces Certification Program for Consulting Partners

LOS ALTOS, Calif. - November 12, 2008 - Talend, the first provider of open source data integration software, today announced the launch of the first open source data integration certification program, designed for the consultants and developers of its partners in the Talend Alliance Program.

Certification is awarded to individuals who successfully complete a comprehensive online test covering all aspects of the use of Talend Open Studio in real-life situations. Fabrice Bonan, COO and co-founder of Talend, explained: “The certification exam was developed and fine-tuned by consultants who are exposed to the many different ways our solutions are used on a daily basis. It's not an easy exam-you need an in-depth knowledge of Talend Open Studio to pass-but it is delivered in a fair and consistent way, and guarantees that certified individuals have mastered open source data integration.”

A number of technical staff members from several Talend Alliance Partners have already received certification, including consultants from Altic, Dmoon, Elosi, Lunexa, Micropole Univers, Napstec, Open Wide, Systech, and Umanis.

“Having certified Talend experts on staff proves our commitment to providing our customers with the best level of support,” declared Alberto Saavedra, Sales Director for Systech, a Platinum Partner in the Talend Alliance Program. “Clients trusting a systems integrator to implement a solution want to be reassured that the consultants are indeed experts in the technology. Talend certification gives them this level of assurance.”

“The certification exam covers many facets of the technology,” confirmed Charly Clairmont, Chief Technical Officer of Altic, a Silver Partner in the Talend Alliance Program. “I have worked with Talend's solutions on several customer engagements, and I am now proud that this certification proves my expertise.”

Vincent Pineau, Talend's Vice President and General Manager Americas, added: “Although we recommend that applicants to certification have prior experience with data integration projects and have attended a Talend training program, this isn't a prerequisite. However, the grading system of the exam was designed so that only people proficient in the technology will pass. Because of this, Talend certification is a guarantee of the quality of services delivered by that individual.”

The certification program is also open to IT professionals working for end-user organizations and-given the growing demand for skilled Talend resources around the globe-will constitute a key differentiator for individuals seeking new employment opportunities,.
