SOPERA and Talend announce OEM Partnership

An efficient and mature package for SOA and Data Integration under an open source license model that integrates easily into existing systems

BONN & NUREMBERG, Germany - January 22, 2009 - SOPERA, provider of an open source platform for SOA (Service-Oriented-Architectures) is adding Talend Open Studio to its product line. SOA and open source are two of the most important mega-trends in IT. Linking the two technologies brings more flexibility and lower costs. Under the terms of the OEM Partnership SOPERA began distributing the combined solution in February 2009 as SOPERA DI (Data Integration). The new solution allows transforming, synchronizing, and consolidating existing data to a new system. SOPERA chose to partner with Talend, the recognized market leader in open source data integration, because of its wide range of functions and connectors.

Both sides benefit from the availability of commercial plug-ins to the open source framework. “Users of our SOA platform SOPERA ASF are getting an additional out-of-the-box solution,” says Harald Weimer, SOPERA's CEO and Managing Director. “The combination of SOPERA and Talend is an excellent choice for organizations looking for a simple, affordable, and highly efficient solution for integration projects.” With SOA pioneer Deutsche Post, SOPERA has proved that open source is a mature and business-ready solution for all types of organizations.

“Talend is an ideal addition for SOPERA, as our solutions meet the most stringent data integration requirements,” explains Francois Mero, Talend's General Manager EMEA. “Furthermore the inclusion of our product in SOPERA ASF offers additional functionality to long-time Talend users-any enterprise wide SOA-based systems can use these solutions with virtually no ramp-up time or effort. At the same time, integrating Talend in an end-to-end process chain allows central management of the Integration service.”

Webinars are available where users can learn how to use the service-oriented integration solution provided by Talend and SOPERA. These interactive online presentations show how to connect the existing system to the SOA and how to use the advantages of service orientation within real time data integration. SOPERA DI will also present at the Open Source Meets Business Forum in Nuremberg (January 27th-29th) and at Solutions Linux in Paris (March 31st-April 2nd).
