OSA integration featured at LinuxWorld

As mentioned in previous posts, Talend was part of the Open Solutions Alliance pavilion at LinuxWorld earlier this month. Beyond the presentations of each of the OSA members, one of the key features of this pavilion was the OSA interoperability showcase. The showcase featured an hourly demonstration of how enterprise-grade open source solutions interoperate. The specific example shown at LinuxWorld featured a Common Customer View application, in which Talend Open Studio is used to consolidate and reconcile data from 3 packaged applications: Centric CRM, OpenBravo, and Adaptive Planning.

This showcase got interesting coverage from several high profile publications and sites, among them ComputerWorld, InternetNews.com, or O’Reilly’s ONLamp.com.

The presentation of the CCV application is meaningful in several ways. It is, 6 months after the OSA was co-founded by Talend and several other open source vendors, the concrete proof that open source vendors can provide an advanced level of integration. It also clearly demonstrates the value that data integration brings to enterprise applications. Finally, it shows the ability of Talend Open Studio to interoperate with applications and databases of all kinds.
