MySQL is probably one of the most established Open Source vendors and Marten Mickos, it CEO, is a really smart guy. They had first entrant advantage and managed to leverage it tremendously - today their RDBMS is a reference in the field, exactly as Talend is about to become. Marten welcomed us this morning at MySQL’s Silicon Valley HQ and we had a very constructive meeting. All the team at Talend is working day after day (and night after night) to become the MySQL of Data Integration. I am admiring the success of Marten and his team and I am proud to say that the Talend team has the spirit to carry out the same challenge.
Today I am happy to introduce Yves de Montcheuil, our new VP of Marketing, to the Talend community.
Yesterday I was at Netezza’s HQ in Framingham, Mass., with Fabrice and Vincent. This company is amazing - in just a few years it managed to sell its data warehousing appliance to some of the most reknowned companies in the US. And it’s growing real fast, with now also some great references in Europe.
