TUI UK and Ireland Selects Talend’s Master Data Management Solution

Open Source Leader Lands Major Contract with Leading Travel Company to Drive Enhanced Customer Engagement and Business Agility

Maidenhead (UK)

Talend announced today that interest in its master data management (MDM) solutions from leading players in the travel industry is growing strongly as the sector becomes increasingly competitive, driven by the rise of dedicated online providers and an ever more demanding customer base.

Providers are continuously looking for ways to drive business agility by improving operational processes and by engaging more closely with customers.  In particular, they are looking to better understand their customers and how they interact with them, ultimately achieving a level of insight into those customers they hadn’t had before.

Talend MDM helps ensure data quality is maintained, a critical differentiator in the travel industry, cleaning data and de-duplicating it where multiple records of the same person exist or where names have been misspelt or incorrectly input. In addition, the solution is open source and based on a unified platform which makes it easily accessible and accelerates the development cycle.

In line with these industry trends, leading leisure travel company, TUI UK has chosen to implement Talend’s Master Data Management (MDM) solution, to consolidate data from various systems that serve multiple customer points of access into a single view of the customer.

“We chose Talend MDM for a number of reasons after a detailed evaluation process. The solution met all of our business requirements, and delivered a cost-effective proposal in terms of development and licence fees. Talend also demonstrated capability to work closely with our systems integration partner Virtusa, to ensure successful delivery,” says Jeremy Gidley, TUI UK and Ireland.  “Most importantly, we were able to clearly identify tangible business benefits that we could achieve in the future through implementing the solution, ensuring that we future-proofed our investment in this technology.”

“In this rapidly evolving environment, providers urgently need to find ways of delivering these kinds of capabilities and using them to achieve edge over the competition not just in the booking process but across all areas of their operations,” says Chris Hackett, Vice President, Northern Europe, for Talend. “Talend MDM can help provide this kind of capability by delivering a single view of the customer, potentially generating a clear business advantage for leisure and travel providers both today and in the future.”
